Harnessing Behavioral Science for Effective Change Management and Productive Company Culture

A CEO of a start-up tech company wanted an effective approach to change management to build a productive company culture of high-performing teams. Management decision-making and a stronger approach to HR was vital while going through Series B and Series C funding phases. He brought Khanna on as a fractional Chief Behavioral Officer to advise across these issues.

Khanna played a dynamic and changing support role, using behavioral science to:

·         Serve as confidante and strategic advisor to CEO through various change management issues

·         Advise on writing of job descriptions for C-Suite

·         Provide counsel on restructuring of sales to meet the changing needs of business expansion and create high-performing teams

·         Assist the CEO in overcoming emotional barriers to strategic decision-making including boundary setting

·         Help teams navigate changing boundaries from “start-up” culture” to a more formal working environment and a company culture that would support growth

·         Deliver training in persuasion and communication to the CEO and leadership

Using behavioral science, the CEO was better able to focus with improved decision-making. A restructured high performing team in sales increased revenue by 40%. With a strengthened company culture and intentional approach to change management, the company successfully completed both rounds of funding.
